Scorching Heat and Power Crisis in Punjab: Daily Life Severely Affected

Punjab, Haryana, and the entire North India region are currently facing an intense heatwave that has made life extremely difficult for people. Even before the end of May, temperatures in many areas have reached close to 45°C. From early morning itself, strong sunlight and hot winds are troubling everyone. Roads look deserted during the afternoon as people avoid stepping outside in the extreme heat.

Children, elderly people, and laborers are suffering the most. In many places, schools are still open, and summer vacations have not yet been announced. As a result, children are forced to travel to school under the scorching sun carrying heavy school bags, which has become a major challenge for them. Many parents believe that the government should immediately declare summer holidays keeping children’s safety in mind.

The situation in Punjab has become even worse because along with the unbearable heat, frequent power cuts have doubled people’s troubles. In both villages and cities, electricity remains unavailable for several hours. Even during the night, when people expect some relief from the heat, long power outages disturb their sleep and comfort. Without fans and coolers, homes feel like ovens. Farmers are also facing serious difficulties due to the electricity shortage. They are not getting enough power supply for irrigation, which could negatively affect crops. Shopkeepers and small business owners are also struggling because repeated power cuts are disrupting their work and reducing productivity.

Doctors have advised people to take extra precautions during this weather. Drinking plenty of water, avoiding direct sunlight, wearing light clothes, and protecting children from extreme heat are extremely important. Cases of heatstroke and dehydration may also increase during this period.

People believe that the administration should take immediate steps to improve electricity supply and announce school holidays as soon as possible. Every year, rising temperatures and worsening power problems are becoming a serious concern, indicating that weather conditions may become even more challenging in the future.

At this moment, people across Punjab and North India are hoping for the arrival of rain and the monsoon season to finally bring relief from the unbearable heat.

    Expected date of monsoon

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon in 2026 is expected to arrive in Kerala around May 26. After that, it will gradually move towards North India. Usually, the monsoon reaches Punjab by the end of June or during the first week of July. This year as well, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Punjab between June 28 and July 5.

However, according to weather departments and private agencies, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may receive below-normal rainfall this year. Several reports suggest that the 2026 monsoon could remain slightly weak, and rainfall may be lower than average. The El Niño effect is being considered one of the major reasons behind this possibility.

If the intense heat and power cuts continue until the end of June, people’s problems may increase even further. At the moment, everyone is eagerly waiting for the monsoon to bring relief from the scorching heat.

    Reviews on “Hello Bachhon (2026)”

I recently watched a web series called Hello Bacchon on Netflix, which is inspired by the real-life story of Alakh Pandey. He is the founder of Physics Wallah, a platform that has been performing exceptionally well over the past few years.

After watching the series, I became curious and explored the platform myself. I noticed that their main goal is to genuinely help students perform well. Their courses are very affordable, and their focus is on providing quality education so that every student can prepare effectively for competitive exams like JEE Main and JEE Advanced.

I have also observed many other coaching institutes, and in most cases, their primary focus seems to be marketing and making money. However, Physics Wallah appears different. They truly aim to provide good education rather than just focusing on profits.
My daughter has recently completed her Class 10 exams and has chosen the PCM stream for Class 11. She is also planning to prepare for IIT and other competitive exams like JEE Main and Advanced. Therefore, I will definitely choose a course from Physics Wallah instead of going to other platforms, because many others seem more focused on marketing than on actual teaching.

Moreover, according to the rules of the Central Board of Secondary Education, dummy admissions are no longer allowed. Students must attend school regularly in Classes 11 and 12. I believe this is the right approach, because school life is very important. At home, students may not receive the same level of structured education and discipline.

It is not enough to only clear JEE Main or Advanced; good performance in board exams is equally important. With regular school attendance, students may not have enough time to attend offline coaching institutes.

That is why I believe online platforms are a better option. Students can study from home, and those who are dedicated and hardworking can succeed from anywhere. In my opinion, Physics Wallah’s online platform is a great choice.

They offer a wide range of packages, from very basic to more advanced ones. Even their most affordable packages include comprehensive learning resources. I believe choosing such a platform is much better, especially when it focuses on students’ needs rather than just making money.
  • Environment Disturbances

    Environment Disturbances

Environmental disturbances are changes or disruptions in the natural environment that affect ecosystems, biodiversity, and human life. These disturbances can be natural or human-made.

    🌍 Types of Environmental Disturbances

    1. Natural Disturbances

    These occur without human involvement:

    • Earthquakes
    • Floods
    • Wildfires
    • Volcanic eruptions
    • Wildfires
    Progress
    Designing

    2. Human-Made Disturbances

These are caused by human activities:

    • Deforestation
    • Pollution (air, water, soil)

    • Urbanization Mining and industrial activities Climate change due to greenhouse gases
    • Mining and industrial activities
    • Climate change due to greenhouse gases

These disturbances often cause long-term damage to the environment.

    Effects of Environmental Disturbances

    • Loss of biodiversity
    • Climate imbalance
    • Soil erosion
    • Water scarcity
    • Health problems in humans

    How to Reduce Environmental Disturbances

    • Plant more trees (afforestation)
    • Reduce pollution and waste
    • Use renewable energy (solar, wind)
    • Spread awareness
    • Follow sustainable practices

    Conclusion

Environmental disturbances can seriously affect life on Earth. While natural disturbances are unavoidable, human-made disturbances can be controlled through responsible actions and sustainable living.
